Reporting to the Mine Training Senior Supervisor, the Training Supervisor is responsible for training, instructing, and evaluating employees in both classroom and field environments.Responsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures;Deliver comprehensive training based on safe work procedures and site training requirements including simulator, classroom work, and field work;Design and redesign outdated training material as required;Provide direction and supervision for Mine Operations trainers assisting with training;Participate in the development and modifications of standard practices and procedures;Evaluate employees on their abilities to safely and productively operate equipment and other day-to-day activities;Assist with administering new hire, baseline, and emergency training;Utilize Success Factors software for scheduling and record keeping;Implement and direct Department training plans as outlined in forecasts and safe work procedures;Coordinate with Operations Supervisors to ensure training is meeting the needs of the crews;Exhibit Core values of Safety, Sustainability, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Courage;Perform other duties as assigned or required.Qualifications:Completion of Gr.12 or equivalent;Exemplary safety leadershipMinimum five years of open pit mining Experience providing training on some of the following: Autonomous Haulage Systems, Haulage Truck, Electric Shovels, Production Loader, Electric Drill, Heavy Duty Dozer, Grader, Backhoe and Excavator;Good knowledge of the B.C. Mines codeDetail-oriented, adaptable, and energetic;Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment;Strong communication (both written and oral), organizational and interpersonal skills;Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;Ability to multi task and keep accurate records of all training events;Possess a valid driver’s license.Assets:IAuditor and LMS experience;Knowledge and training on Autonomous Haulage SystemKnowledge of fleet management systems (Command, Wenco, or MineStar) would be considered an asset;B.C. Shift Boss and blasting ticket, or B.C.
