Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Recruitment, the Student Recruitment Officer is primarily a student recruiter but also supports admissions and enrollment and student services functions as necessary in order to accomplish enrollment goals. The incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing effective recruitment strategies and activities, special events and presentations to designated target markets for the purpose of generating inquiries and applications. The incumbent is also responsible for prospect management and correspondence with prospective students (inquiries and applications) and assisting with student orientations and the transition of students to university life.PRINCIPALDUTIES : 1. Develop and execute marketing and recruitment plans for designated markets in order to achieve enrollment targets. 2. Maintain familiarity with designated markets including admissions requirements, educational systems (credentialing) and market attributes. 3. Liaise with all departments and campuses of the University in order to maintain familiarity with university programs and services. 4. Plan, coordinate and deliver special events and presentations to supportFDU -Vancouver’s marketing and recruitment initiatives with the purpose of promoting awareness of the University and generating inquiries and applications. 5. Travel to designated markets as necessary to represent the University at educational fairs and conferences. 6. Coordinate advertising campaigns and marketing material particular to designated markets. Use technology to enhance marketing and recruitment. 7. Cultivate alumni, guidance counselors and other constituencies in designated markets to assist with the distribution of marketing material and campaigns appropriate todesignated markets . 8. Serve the University as a primary point of contact, promoting and representing the interests of both the University and applicants by providing counsel for prospective students and parents concerning academic programs of study, program requirements, scholarship programs and financial aid. 9. Provide pre-admission advising on an appointment and drop-in basis. 10. Advise students during pre-admission and identify their needs to solve academic and/or financial issues. Make appropriate on-campus referrals using knowledge of all university programs and services. If required, liaise with other off-campus agencies to assist students with their application/admission process. 11. Utilize effective prospect management practices to follow up on inquiries, applications and admitted students to the completion of their enrollment. 12. Monitor the receipt of applications and determine the next best steps in the recruitment process for each applicant. 13. Regularly update university prospect management and student information systems concerning student applicant and inquiry status. 14. Provide regular reports on recruitment activities, programs and initiatives, including inquiry, prospect, application and deposit numbers for designated markets. 15. Research new markets and initiatives. 16. Contribute as a part of the marketing and student recruitment team in meetings, events and activities. 17. Support other areas and activities which promote the image and awareness of the University and assist in student retention initiatives where appropriate. 18. Assist with student admissions, registration and records management; monitor and update records management systems. 19. Support other campuses of the University by addressing inquiries, providing information and making referrals about programs and services when necessary. 20. Perform other duties as required to support the overall operations of the University. 21. Supervise the work of student staff, as required. Required Qualifications: 2. Strong understanding of post-secondary admissions procedures and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in the student recruitment/admissions area at a university. 3. Dynamic, outgoing personality with excellent public speaking and presentation skills (effective oral, written and interpersonal skills are essential). 4. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations. 5. Valid driver’s license, accessibility to a car and ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally. Valid passport is required for international travel. 6. Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with the University’s Motor Vehicle policy. AnICBCcheck will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the University. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing anICBCcheck. 7. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other computer software applications is necessary; familiarity withCRMsystems is preferred. 8. Evening and weekend hours are required. 9. Proficiency in English. Fluency in a second language required for designated market(s). 10. Canadian residency or work permit required. 11. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
