JWR Employment Specialists are working with a Mechanical and Engineering Company who are specialists in bespoke fabrication to recruit a Structural Steel Project Manager.This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast growing and expanding business that support an equally fast-growing industry.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOverseeing multiple medium sized bespoke projects, through to full scale build projects concurrentlyThe ability to produce hand calculations and apply logical engineering judgement is also necessary along with an aptitude for solving problemsDocument all supporting project documentsManage and supervise site foremen, engineers, workshop team and commercial team’sAutoCAD skills and a general familiarity with 3D modelling software such as Tekla Structures/ Advanced Steel or equivalent would also be preferentialPlan, maintain and control the financial administration of all construction work to obtain and maintain maximum cost effectivenessEnsuring that the General Manager and admin are kept up to date with site progress and commercial issuesAssess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risksPreparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the contractAssist QS in the preparation of project final accountsActively participate in site project meetings and ensure that all commercial matters are discussed, and problems investigated and resolvedSkills and ExperienceDetailed working knowledge and experience in technical elements of structural steel fabrication and erectionPreferred degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or Structural EngineeringPrevious Contracts Management experience preferably for a steelwork fabricator and erectorExperience in a wide variety of contracts, within the residential and industrial sectorThe ability to priorities multiple concurrent projects under stringent time, quality, and budgetary constraintsAbility to read and understand technical specifications and drawingsA conscientious and a self-disciplined approachExcellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate with all internal and external partnersDriven and dynamic approach with long term career development focus
