If you’re driven, able to work both independently and as part of a team, Fritz-Alder could be your opportunity to build an exciting career.Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering and Design, the Precast Structural Engineer will work closely with our employees, clients and project-specific team members. The engineering position requires someone with good communication, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills to provide structural design services and ensure all project deliverables are completed with absolute Engineering integrity, lead our drafting department, and participate in industry associations.Prepare and oversee design calculations and analysis, technical specifications, and Engineering drawings for various precast concrete elementsCommunicate and resolve conflicts and discrepancies in project documents with Architects, Engineers, and other team membersDesign precast concrete repairs for production and installation departments when requiredAccurately review and stamp production drawings for precast Hollowcore slabs, solid slabs, structural and architectural walls, as well as other various precast productsEnsure all project deliverables are compliant with applicable codes, standards, and client specificationsWork to maintain construction schedulesAbility to mentor and guide Junior Engineers (EIT)Leading project drafting teams in delivering successful project outcomes while developing new standardsWork closely with our Quality Control departmentReview sites and sign off on installationsParticipate in industry associationsQualifications & Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited UniversityMinimum 6 years of experience in structural design primarily in precast and prestressed concrete structuresGeneral knowledge of building constructionFamiliarity with Precast Plants CSA audits is an assetLeadership skills include the ability to delegate, inspire and communicate effectivelyDemonstrable record of successfully designing and delivering precast projectsIn-depth knowledge and understanding of various building codes and design standardsProficient in various structural analysis software, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS OfficeValid G driver’s licenseStrong attention to detail and accuracyEffective time management and organizational skillsEagerness to learn and develop new systems and product improvementsCompany eventsExtended health careOn-site parkingPaid time offHow to Apply: Please submit your resume to info@faprecast.ca . Please include "Precast Structural Engineer Application" in the subject line.Fritz-Alder Precast is an equal-opportunity employer, and we welcome candidates of all backgrounds and experiences to apply.
