A Little About You Client focus – how do you build relationships with and effectively liaise with clients Examples of creative solutions on complex projects and your general ‘philosophy’ of structural engineering How you prioritize work – we are a flexible work environment that changes direction at full speed Your resume should show us: Registered as a P.Eng. with 6+ years of experience as a structural engineer Expertise in and application of structural theory, the National Building Code of Canada, and Canadian Design Standards (A23.1/2, A23.3, S16, O86, and S304) Proficiency with structural analysis and design programs (SAP, SAFE, ETABS, RISA, S-FRAME, etc.) Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects including structural requirements of process equipment and piping Concrete and steel design experience as well as projects where you were Engineer of Record Experience with municipal water infrastructure (Water and Wastewater treatment facilities and associated structures) Experience in a consulting engineering environment Construction field experience Familiarity with architectural systems and specifications Experience with or interest in design and rehabilitation of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance structures Knowledge and use of CSA S6, ACI 350 and CSA 900.2 Experience running complex infrastructure/building project(s), both large and small A Little More About the Role Responsibilities: Working along side our Lead Water Structures Engineer in Saskatoon, and engineering teams based in Canmore, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton, regardless of your home base, you will have the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary municipal infrastructure projects across Western Canada. Day-to-Day Take work from concept through to design and then to construction – preparing detailed structural engineering designs for a wide variety of projects including water, wastewater, industrial, and municipal structures, and buildings. Review and coordinate deliverables with other project team members including process, mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, landscape, contractors and suppliers as each project requires Complete assessments and prepare reports for various structures and buildings Support construction administration objectives and perform field reviews Assume responsibility for structural design as Engineer of Record Actively participate in project meetings Observe and maintain quality assurance practices and documentation standards on all projects Perform peer reviews and design checks of work prepared by others Assist in the preparation of proposals in response to requests for our services Maintaining client relationships through business development activities Collaboration is Key! Assemble and review structural deliverables in collaboration with other team members Review and coordinate deliverables with other multi-disciplinary project team members Collaborate with, advise, and assist team members in other groups and offices Actively coach, guide and mentor developing team members Feedback and Growth Be a lifelong learner, stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies Actively coach, guide and mentor developing team members Perform peer reviews, design checks, and provide feedback on work prepared by others Actively participate in and bring ideas forward for continuous improvement initiatives At ISL, we share an enthusiasm for community infrastructure.
