Tandem is recruiting for aFULL-TIME POSITIONas aSTRUCTURAL ENGINEERwith a minimum of5 years’ experienceto support our clients' projects in ourWINDSOR, ON ORDETROIT, MI LOCATION .APPLY NOW - https://www.tandemeng.com/careers___________________________________________________________________________________ Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis on structures Professional Engineer License in Ontario, in Michigan or eligible to obtain within a year is required (P.E./P.Eng). 5 years of practical experience Experience in the automotive industry Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Software including Project AutoCAD required Proficiency in one of the following software: Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional Autodesk Advance Steel detailing SAP 2000 Familiar with Canadian and American Structural Engineering design standards and codes Experience in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures Experience with Automotive and conveyor structural design projects Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Highly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and fluctuating schedules Must have superior time management skills and the ability to multi-task with multiple projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, the ability to speak multiple languages is considered an assetNecessary Requirements for Applicants: Hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record Must be able to obtain work permit in Canada Be willing and able to cross the border, for required support of our US or Canadian customersResponsibilities and Duties: The Structural Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to the following: Analyze and prepare structural reports. Read and understand structural drawings. Technically competent to perform hand calculations based on American and Canadian Standards of codes. Able to use design software and drawings tools. Minimal travel to job sites to collect and survey existing conditions. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications drawing. Perform site visits and attend meetings with contractors and clients. Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures. Ability to autonomously take a task with minimal directions and ensure successful completion. Ability to sketch structure details and sections. Familiar with industrial applications with emphasis on automotive and conveyor structural engineering experience.
