Job Description

Our client is currently looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join their team in Windsor, ON. The ideal candidate will have a P.Eng. license or will be eligible to obtain one within a year, have engineering consulting experience, structural software experience (Tekla, Advanced Steel), steel & concrete experience and will be highly motivated, with superb communication and interpersonal skills. This role offers the chance to be part of a growing and collaborative team within a progressive organization.Responsibilities:Familiar with industrial applications with emphasis on automotive and conveyor structural engineering experience.Technically competent to perform hand calculations based on American and Canadian Standards of codes.Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications drawing.Ability to autonomously take a task with minimal directions and ensure successful completion.Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures.Perform site visits and attend meetings with contractors and clients.Minimal travel to job sites to collect and survey existing conditions.Able to use design software and drawings tools.Ability to sketch structure details and sections.Analyze and prepare structural reports.Read and understand structural drawings.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis on structuresProfessional Engineer License in Canada or eligible to obtain within a year is required (P.E)At least 5 years of practical experienceExperience in the automotive industry preferredExperience in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structuresFamiliar with Canadian and American Structural Engineering design standards and codesRelevant experience with Automotive and conveyor structural design projectsAdvanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Software including ProjectPractical experience with AutoCAD requiredProficiency in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional preferredProficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel detailing preferredProficiency in SAP 2000 preferredProficiency in Microsoft SuiteHighly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skillsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAbility to speak multiple languages is considered an assetAbility to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projectsAbility to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalitiesMust be able to obtain work permit in Canada (TN Visa)Be willing and able to cross the border, for required support of our US or Canadian customersMust have a valid driver’s license with a good driving recordForge Consulting Group prides itself on delivering a quality service to all our clients.
