While there is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, the primary focus of this position is to assist our design team with structural design for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.What a day at EXP has in store for youAssist with the design of steel, concrete, masonry and structuresWork with other senior and junior engineers collaborativelyParticipate in design meetings with the owner, architect and other consultantsParticipate in construction site meetingsConduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance with structural drawings and contract documentsWhat your experience looks likeDegree in Structural Engineering from a recognized universityP. Eng. A licence, or in the process of obtaining one, is not required but is considered an assetPreferably 3 to 6 years experience in structural engineering with a focus on structural analysis and design.Experience with NBCC, CSA standardsField experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications, and writing site reportsExperience with Etabs, SAFE, SAP and other similar Structural design software.Team player with the proven ability to work independently with minimum directionHard worker who is eager and willing to assume responsibilityCommitment and dedication to client service as well as technical excellenceDemonstrated and effective communication skills and the ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groupsStrategic thinker with the ability to determine what work is required and draw rational conclusions from all available informationValid driver’s license is an assetABOUT US Our storyWith a mission to understand, innovate, partner and deliver, EXP provides engineering, architecture, design and consulting services to the world’s built and natural environments.Our heritage dates back to 1906, when the earliest of EXP’s predecessor companies started its engineering infrastructure practice.
