Job Description

Do you have solid experience with strategic sourcing, and do you want to be part of a newly established group function in a global company?

As Strategic Sourcing Manager at Actona Group, you become part of a newly established group function at the company’s HQ in Denmark. With direct report to the SVP for Procurement, you become responsible for parts of the strategic sourcing of the global raw materials for four upholstery productions in Poland and Lithuania. The overall goal is to benefit from economies of scale and synergies while optimising the global raw material sourcing processes across the entities.

Actona Group is in the very early stages of developing the function; therefore, you will start out working project-based, with a focus on both technical and strategic sourcing.

In addition, your areas of responsibilities include analysis of the raw material market to create insight and a professional foundation for decision-making across Actona Group.

Your main tasks are:

  • Strategic sourcing
    • Strategic sourcing of raw materials including, e.g., foam, wood and metal for production
    • Analysing and following the raw material markets and price development
    • Data analysis and reporting to evaluate current sourcing practices and identify opportunities for optimisation
    • Create an overview of different manufacturing methods at the upholstery productions to ensure optimal and balanced raw material sourcing
    • Optimise costs
    • Participate in building the function through establishing tools, templates and ways of working
  • Analysis and negotiation of framework agreements to receive the best possible terms and conditions
  • Negotiation of complex solutions to ensure competitive prices and conditions in framework agreements
  • Build and maintain good relations with internal and external stakeholders, primarily the buying departments at the upholstery productions, while building structure and processes with relevant stakeholders
  • Work efficiently in a cross-functional team and ensure buy-in for the new direction
  • Build bridges between different cultures – experience from Eastern Europe is an advantage

Your qualifications are at least five years of documented experience from a similar position with a tried and tested toolbox within strategic sourcing, being familiar with the raw material markets and having a basic understanding of production. Moreover, experience with professional sourcing management from the production industry is an advantage. You are strong-willed, visionary, have ambitious goals and have a passion for optimising, building relationships and working in a new team environment.

You have a relevant cand.merc. degree, for example within sourcing and supply chain management or similar.

As a person you are analytical and curious about the existing conditions, as well as future tendencies. Additionally, you are energetic, extroverted and able to create excellent and loyal relationships in the company and with collaborators and suppliers.

Finally, it is important to be persistent, aware and able to communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.

Actona Group offers a position in a global and well-established company with great opportunities for personal and professional development. In the position of Strategic Sourcing Manager, it will also be possible to advance within the role and gain managerial responsibility over time.

Travelling: 50 to 60 travel days annually.
