The Big PictureThe Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting the PMO as an ambassador of supply chain for NPI and OSC projects. They are responsible for selecting, evaluating and managing supplier relationships. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing strong relationships with internal and external partners and utilizing those relationships, along with data analytics, to solve problems and achieve business goals that drive value for the department and organization. This could be in the form of improved cost, service and/or quality of products/services from suppliers/subcontractors.Your Impact Through InnovationDevelop and maintain a category & sourcing strategy that meets the business objectives and follows a disciplined approach for supplier/material sourcing. Support the PMO for NPI and OSC Projects. Strategic business partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business needs Support other Supply Chain divisions with procurement, purchasing, planning, contract development and negotiation. Identify opportunities for cost savings across the supply chain and take action to achieve cost reductions or improve cost effectiveness. Negotiate volume/supply contracts with component suppliers to obtain cost savings Take a lead role in complex negotiations. Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers Participate in the supplier management program. Work with suppliers to mitigate supply risks, reduce costs and improve terms. Actively seek out industry knowledge though research, trade shows, conferences and online training, establishing a role as a trusted advisor to other senior managers within the organization People leadership responsibilities include: Motivate and inspire a team to a high level of engagement. Encourage, recognize and acknowledge employees who consistently deliver excellence. Monitor and manage performance by setting and regularly reviewing individual goals. Conduct reviews of staff to provide positive and constructive feedback. Identify learning and development needs. Ensure adequate employee staffing to support the long-term business plan. Hire and train new team members. Champion adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; work in conjunction with the quality department to support compliance to quality system, resolution of quality issues, audits and CAPA program. Responsible for planning, implementation, and effectiveness of significant supply chain improvement projects. Support product transfer activities from R&D into manufacturing through participation and resource deployment. Champion effective employee relations and communications. Adhere to and promote the adherence to all Corporate, Quality and Health and Safety policies and procedures. Other duties as required.Your Unique ExpertiseRequired Skills:University education in business, science, engineering, or equivalent is required. 7+ years of related work experience in supply chain management, vendor & contracts management, project management and other related experience. Direct people management experience is required with evidence of strong coaching and leadership skills. Demonstrated proficiency in project management. Must be knowledgeable concerning materials management, purchasing, planning, scheduling, ERP, and general production principles. Experience leading complex negotiations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with people at all levels Strong analytical skills, a high attention to detail and good planning skills. Proficient in MS Office including Advanced MS Excel Experience working with ERP systemsAsset Skills:Experience in medical device manufacturing.
