Posted Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 4:00 AM Job Summary Reporting to the Director, Risk Initiatives, the Sr. Risk Analyst is responsible for conducting complex analytics providing the company with insight into its existing portfolio as well as helping to identify potential new risks to the business.Responsibilities Support the Risk Operations functions with reporting and analytics related to portfolio risk assessments, identification of emerging risks, policy application characteristic profiles and decisioning efficiency gap analysis. Conduct analyses of internal portfolio data and external economic and demographic data to identify trends and patterns relevant to the business by leveraging data science and traditional analytical methodologies. Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrated mortgage lending and/or risk management experience with focus on analytics in a mortgage lending environment. Develop a good understanding of business needs and collaborate with other team members towards concept testing and prototype development related to Risk Management accountabilities. Develop comprehensive monitoring and reporting on new and existing initiatives to determine overall effectiveness and provide updates to key stakeholders (Risk Management, Project Leads) Responsible for advanced analytics using Alteryx and Power BI to communicate opportunities for risk mitigation and to identify pending risks. Produce dashboards and relevant analytical results for executive level audiences and other business functions. Responsible for proactively creating efficiencies in processes including report consolidation and automation. Skills and Qualifications Degree in quantitative field – Finance, Statistics, Economics, Math, Physics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrated mortgage lending and/or risk management experience with focus on analytics in a mortgage lending environment. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross functional teams. 3+ years of progressive business analysis experience. Strong background and willingness to learn new analytical and visualization tools such as Alteryx and Power BI. Experience with SQL, Python and R an asset. Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in presentation level quality. Demonstrated ability to explain/communicate complex information to a non-technical audience.
