What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Engineering Services, the Sr. Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for:

  • leading and managing all aspects of the delivery of complex capital infrastructure projects including linear transportation assets, structures and water resources initiatives;
  • ensure compliance with Provincial legislation, regulations, codes, policies, standards and bylaws;
  • procure specialized services associated with multi-disciplinary capital infrastructure projects;
  • administer and oversee the capital budget (annual and 9-year forecast), and assess and establish priorities, funding, risks and needs;
  • engage with the public and Council to develop measured, innovative and responsible solutions which are responsive to needs;
  • collaborate and provide expert engineering leadership to other Town departments/divisions and external stakeholders including developers, adjacent municipalities, and regional and provincial government agencies;
  • provide direct and indirect divisional leadership and support to technologists and technicians and promote and foster a culture of innovation, engagement and respect.

You are someone that establishes and maintains positive relationships with diverse groups of people including but not limited to staff, consultants, members of Council and/or general public. You exercise discretion, sound judgement and diplomacy when making decisions and/or providing leadership and direction. You are able to align and integrate multi-faceted plans that enable you to collaboratively achieve goals.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant, you must possess:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Applied Science from a recognized university
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • More than 10 years of directly related experience with progressively more responsibility in project management including planning, design, budget preparation, procurement, scheduling and construction of infrastructure projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years with an engineering consultant is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic studies such as master plans and environmental assessments.
  • Intermediate level computer knowledge and skills in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Salary: $118,516 - $139,431 per annum (Band D)
