Job Description
The Health & Safety Manager will provide comprehensive Health and Safety support and guidance to the Clean Harbors Seismic and Exploration Operational teams and Health and Safety team members. This position is full-time, primarily Monday to Friday with flexibility to work from home when needed, with an on-call component. This role will be based in Calgary with the ability to travel within Alberta.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
- Working with the Director, Health and Safety- manage and support a team of Health and Safety professionals supporting multiple client locations.
- Direct supervision and management of field-based health and safety personnel
- In coordination with Insite Leaders, 25% of this role will be to attend and conduct Health and Safety site inspections and audits (“boots-on-the-ground”) to ensure compliance with Clean Harbors Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Safe Work Practices.
- Audit, manage and directly support the Health and Safety team’s performance.
- Lead, review and or guide Incident Investigations.
- Develop, conduct and or audit Safety Meetings designed to promote a better understanding of Company/ Client Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines.
- In collaboration with Insite Operations Leaders, develop and or revise task-specific risk assessments.
- When required, directly support turnarounds and outages.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents and, manage follow-up and reporting.
Qualifications for Candidates
- Minimum 5 years of proven Health and Safety Leadership experience.
- A background in Seismic and Exploration related activities and services
- Ability to work within a diverse team environment utilizing strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Strong computer skills- Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability in producing Health and Safety reports using data analysis and risk assessment information. Attention to detail is a critical success factor.
- NCSO certification required as a minimum, Degree in Health and Safety is preferred and, CSRP designation is highly desired.
- Thorough understanding of the Alberta OHS Act, Code and Regulations.
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC OHS legislation.
