Position OverviewThe Sr. Financial Analyst – MSRM position at General Mills Canada Corporation is accountable for the financial management, oversight, and partnership for Market Strategy & Revenue Management of the Meals & Baking Business Unit (M&B BU). This role provides financial thought leadership to enable the delivery of short- & long-range strategic objectives for the MSRM- M&B team through planning and execution. Acting as an integral role between BU and Sales teams, this role partners closely with both the RM Manager and MS Manager positions on the M&B business to support the strategy & execution of the M&B portfolio.This role has ownership over the monthly trade forecast for the M&B business, while partnering with both the sales & BU finance teams, playing a critical role of end-to-end organizational communication from strategy through to execution. The right candidate will have a holistic understanding of the P&L with a focused expertise in pricing, merchandising & trade mechanics to support forecast accuracy and agile decision-making. This candidate will be an expert in managing ambiguity, thrive in an agile environment and can make the complex simple. The role requires the ability to take a proactive approach in managing & simplifying competing priorities while also being able to simplify complex financial modelling in a succinct manner for organizational stakeholders. This role offers great career growth opportunities and reports into the Finance Manager, MSRM.Role AccountabilitiesOwnership and accountability over accurate MSRM financial modelling, ensuring clarity of key assumptions while supporting strong financial literacy among key business partners and decision-makers of the organization.Works collaboratively across the S&OP (PEAK) Process to ensure a strong two-way dialogue and communication of MSRM financial modelling assumptions as well as the strategic decisions and holistic implications to the forecast.Autonomously and proactively influence, set and align priorities for self through respective M&B business partners while meeting broader Canada MSRM objectives.Owns annual operating plan for MSRM initiatives as well as customer target setting for the M&B business unitHas a clear and holistic understanding of the M&B business performance, with an ability to influence results and the strategy of the MSRM role as a part of the business model.Champions strong controls across the MSRM environment while overseeing monthly Trade MSRM Trade Reviews to ensure strong forecast accuracy, communication, and visibility of trade investment choices for M&B across the customer landscape.Qualifications:Professional Requirements and Experience:A university degree in Finance or Business Administration3+ years of relevant experience in Finance, preferably in CPGSuperior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to translate financial analysis into insights & actions.Strong track record of influencing cross-functional partners on business results.Operates autonomously with agility and a capacity to make the complex simple.Effective verbal and written communication skillsPrevious commercial experience an assetLeadership Competencies:Business Partnership: Leads the business team in identifying and pursuing opportunities that maximize shareholder value; influences across boundaries to develop and execute long term strategies; drives sound/financial business decisions that balance internal P&L performance while remaining competitively externally.Technical/Financial Acumen: Demonstrates technical/financial knowledge in a value-added way; understands, practices, and propagates proper accounting, policy compliance and reporting while ensuring a strong control environment.Ability to Create Flexible Environment: Ability to lead through ambiguity with agility in a dynamic and complex environment to support effective ways of delivering goals for the team.Delivers Outstanding Results: sets aggressive goals and priorities, delivers on short and long-term commitments, makes timely high-quality decisions, adds superior expertise.General Mills is committed to Employment Equity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates.
