Reporting to and working closely with the Finance Manager, the Sr. Financial Analyst duties include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis. a To be successful as a senior financial analyst, you should be able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in office 5 days a week.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of regular funding reports, including OHRS, SRIs, and CAPS and Board of Directors
  • Creates monthly/quarterly financial reports for Board of Directors and GCHC leadership.
  • Prepare funder reporting, variance analysis and forecasting as required, to meet organizational requirements
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget process for operations and capital and relate submissions
  • Support and advise leadership team during budget processes and forecasting
  • Develop and implement controls around all financial aspects of the organization
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, invoicing, and other related duties to meet month-end and year-end obligations
  • Maintain the overall integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Other accounting related duties as required
Qualifications
  • Chartered Professional Accountant, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in accounting, budgeting and analytical review, ideally in a not-for-profit setting
  • Experience with Ministry of Health reporting processes (CAPS, ARR, SRI, OHRS) an asset
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of and experience in Excel; experience with Sage 300, Business Central, and ADP
  • Effective time management, decision making and organizational skills
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and management and external auditors and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports.
