Overview Groupe Dynamite Inc. (GDI) is a Montréal-based public company of integrated omni‑channel brands, designing and distributing accessible, trend‑forward fashion for women since 1975. Our mission, "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time," is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer‑centric core of GDI's long‑standing success as a leading retailer in North America.

Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, and provides shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.

Job Summary Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the Director Ecommerce is responsible for driving online sales performance and sustainable growth for Dynamite and Garage. This role acts as the strategic and operational champion of the e‑commerce channel, influencing revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition through strong partnership with Marketing, Merchandising, Acquisition, and Retention teams.

This position is accountable for translating business and brand objectives into clear e‑commerce growth strategies, influencing traffic, conversion, and retention levers, and ensuring the online channel delivers against its commercial potential. With a strong understanding of digital demand drivers and on‑site performance, you use data, customer insights, and experimentation to prioritise initiatives that move the needle on sales and customer engagement.

This role requires a commercially minded e‑commerce leader who can operate with both strategic clarity and operational rigor, influence without direct ownership, and inspire teams and partners to deliver measurable results in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Main Responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Growth

Develop and execute the e‑commerce growth strategy for Dynamite and Garage, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, brand strategies, and corporate priorities

Drive online sales performance by influencing the core levers of growth—traffic, conversion rate, average order value, and retention—using data, insights, and test‑and‑learn approaches

Partner closely with Marketing and Acquisition teams to influence traffic strategies, channel mix, and campaign priorities, ensuring qualified demand and category‑level alignment

Monitor and analyse e‑commerce performance through dashboards and KPIs, translating insights into clear recommendations and actions for senior leadership

Customer Experience, Product & Optimization

Own the on‑site e‑commerce experience, including content and merchandising to maximise conversion and customer engagement

Partner with Digital Product teams on the e‑commerce roadmap and prioritisation, balancing commercial impact, customer experience improvements, and technical feasibility across brands

Identify and champion innovation, experimentation and optimisation opportunities (technical, merchandising, or omnichannel) that enhance the brand site experience and support sales growth

Leadership, Strategy & Cross‑Functional Execution

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Merchandising, Planning, Finance, IT, Operations, and Marketing to ensure strong execution of initiatives and a seamless omnichannel customer experience

Communicate e‑commerce strategy, performance, and priorities clearly to executive leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding of goals, trade‑offs, and results

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is an asset

12+ years of experience in e‑commerce, digital commerce, or performance‑driven digital roles, ideally within fashion or multi‑category retail

Proven experience driving online sales growth and improving key e‑commerce performance metrics, including traffic, conversion rate, average order value, and customer retention

Strong understanding of digital demand channels (Paid Search, SEO, Affiliate, Display, Email/CRM) and how channel performance, attribution, and funnel dynamics impact revenue

Demonstrated ability to influence revenue, margin, and promotional outcomes through cross‑functional partnership rather than direct ownership

Strong analytical capability, with comfort translating data and insights into clear, actionable business recommendations for senior leadership

Proven people leadership experience, including building, developing, and leading high‑performing teams

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to executive stakeholders

Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving retail and technology environment, with the ability to adapt priorities and decisions quickly

Benefits

A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance‑driven bonuses

A group retirement savings programme with employer matching

Flexible group insurance with personalised coverage that meets your needs

An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite

Exclusive private sample sales

A flexible vacation policy

And more!

Our promise… No day will be like the last—we aim to be better today than we were yesterday. We are committed to employment equity.
