Brantford, Canada Category: Quality Assurance, Engineering, Research and Development, Supply Chain Job ID: 26911 The Quality Engineer Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and leading plant-wide quality improvement efforts. This position plays an active role in supporting the development of the Quality Strategy for the plant, achieving Quality related KPI’s and setting Quality related PPI’s. This position also ensures our Plant Quality systems maintain our ISO 9001 certification and that our systems and processes follow the processes defined by the Global Quality organization. The Quality Engineer Specialist provides support for the continual improvement of our operation and products (including current and new products). This will be accomplished by following the End-to-End Quality process for New Product Development and supporting the use of Early Management tools for product and process changes. This individual is responsible for applying Lean tools to resolve quality related issues. This position works closely with the North American Quality Engineering group to collaborate with our component suppliers to address quality concerns and resolve issues with non-conforming materials.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Drive quality related opportunities to resolution by identifying root cause.Make recommendations to improve our quality systems based on sound rationale and scientific methodology.Use Lean Tools to achieve drive continuous improvement thinking.Assist manufacturing operations to resolve chronic quality losses. Manage products and components on Quality Hold working with cross functional groups as needed (MHT, Planning, North America Quality Engineering) to drive Product Disposition and Corrective ActionProvide as needed insight, direction, and coordination to quality personnel in resolving quality related issues.Provide site leadership for quality improvement initiatives/projects as well as new product launch activity (PDV’s, PPV’s and PLQ’s) following the E2E and Global Quality processes and procedures.Primary Manufacturing contact for external suppliers. Works with Procurement and North America Quality Engineering as required in new product launches, quality defect analysis and proactive implementation of quality systems. Close contact with suppliers will be a key component of success in this position.Quality system reporting - tracking and monitoring quality results to identify and track improvement opportunitiesEnsure Plant Quality systems and standards are maintained including Playbooks and Standards.This position requires strong personal initiative to identify opportunities and support standardization and Best Practice implementation within the Brantford manufacturing facility.
