Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: This role will cover IT audits and Environmental/Social/Governance (ESG) audits, and may also cover operational audits, risk management processes, and/or data analytics. Additionally, this role will support specific annual external audit requirements, most notably reviewing management's assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of the IT portion of systems of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). WHAT YOU WILL DO:Plan and execute IT audit projects as assigned and prepare reports on the results of those IT audit projects for presentation to management.Develop and include testing of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) processes and controls, over time. We will provide training for the audit of ESG process and control where appropriate.Plan and execute assigned audit work independently and within time allotments.Prepare clear and concise internal audit working papers using ARMS support tools (currently TeamMate) that support the conclusions in the reports.Monitor the status of deficiencies arising from audits and related work, including the need for attention and escalation when agreed-upon actions and timelines are not met.Establish credibility and build professional relationships with the management teams, the assigned business unit teams, support functions, and external auditors.Work with the assigned business unit leaders, understand the risk profile of the assigned business units and monitor these profiles to identify potential risks associated with the business units.Support the Finance team in sustaining the ICFR program by reviewing management's testing and performance of controls over the design and operational effectiveness of the IT controls that support internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)—performed with the assistance of the full Internal Audit team and, periodically, external consultants.Prepare and follow an approved personal development program that includes in-year and long-term activities, including internal and external education and on-the-job training, to develop skills for existing and future roles.WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Post-secondary degree in business, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.IT audit professional designation such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent.1-5 years of audit experience in IT process and control testing.Proficiency in risk assessments, audit planning, and executing IT and operational audits.Familiarity with ESG standards, including IFRS S1 and S2, would be considered advantageous.Accounting or audit designation (CPA, CIA, or equivalent) would also be considered assets.This role may include 5 - 10% travel, primarily within the U.S. and U.K. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.A continuous learning environment.Ability to advance your career with a growing company.NFI Group has been named a Manitoba Top Employer for 2020, the tenth since the competition was established in 2007.Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions.Employee social committee organizes numerous events throughout the year, including summer barbecues, holiday festivities, sporting events and tournaments, and much more.
