Position Summary The role is to provide administration and support to Microsoft SQL databases, including production, development, testing, and staging, for enterprise and in-house applications at Canada Cartage. Core systems include Transportation Management System, Fleet Management System, Document Management System, Telematics Management System, Radius Portal, Great Plains, and others. Schedule: Monday to Friday. 40 hours. Afterhours when req. What you will do Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide optimal response time to front-end users Manage the execution and completion of back-end jobs and services on production servers Manage the replication of data from source databases to replicated destinations to ensure data availability for business reporting Work closely with the Infrastructure Team to ensure database backup completion Troubleshoot database errors and perform root cause analysis to determine the cause of issues and either fix or provide recommendations toward solutions Monitor and document security and compliance threats that may affect the production databases, such as unauthorized access, data loss, and long-running queries Support the Infrastructure team in server patch update and projects as required Produce reports on database usage, volume growth, and query execution time When assigned, provide support to the development team in database design, query optimization, and production deployment. When assigned, develop queries and stored procedures for applications to interact with databases. What You’ll Bring 3 years Along with the following Skills & Competencies: Azure Data Warehouse and SQL as Managed Service BizTalk SSIS Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) Hands-on experience with database administration, data manipulation languages, and core principles of database design MS-SQL Power BI, SSRS QL Server databases, preferably in Quest Spotlight SQL Server database backup, recovery, log shipping, and transactional replication Why people love working for Canada Cartage Cohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere.
