Job Description

Assessment, treatment and consultation services for dysphagia and communication disorders to a mixed adult population which includes neurology, medical, surgical, ICU and geriatric clients on our multiple acute medical units, complex care and rehabilitation units. Coverage includes video fluoroscopy.

Qualifications

Halton Healthcare is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology and registered with the college of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario.
  • Swallowing assessment skills including video fluoroscopic studies are essential.
  • Excellent Organization, Time Management and Communication Skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible to meet the changing demands of a mixed caseload and the two sites.
  • 1-2 years experience in assessment & treatment of dysphagia
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centred care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Hours:Monday to Sunday - Primarily Days;8:00-16:00 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
