POSITION SUMMARY:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the provision ofspeech-language pathology services to Home and Community Care patients in orderto address and improve communication and/or swallowing disorders.
QUALIFICATIONS
· RegisteredSpeech-Language Pathologist in good standing with the College of Audiologistsand Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO);
· In-depth knowledge ofspeech-language pathology services and other community resources, treatmentcentres, and organizations;
· Good understanding ofthe roles of other health care professionals;
· Relevant speechlanguage pathology experience in a community/health care environment;
· Comprehensive andup-to-date knowledge of speech language pathology tools, processes, equipment,and assistive technology;
· Knowledge of fundingagencies related to the speech language pathology recommendations;
· Working knowledge ofcomputer software (email, internet) and Microsoft Office applications (Word,Excel);
· Must have validdriver’s license and access to a vehicle, as regular travel within theNipissing District will be required. Travel to other areas within the NorthEast geography may also be required from time to time, as the business needsrequire;
· Advancedoral and written proficiency in English is essential.
French Proficiency: French an asset
