Job Description

On behalf of our client in Richmond, BC, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Integration Architect for a 12-months contract position. This is a hybrid position require 1-day of onsite work per month.

Role

The Solution Architect - Integration is responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions and ensuring those solutions are implemented effectively. You will work closely with various teams including cloud architects and operations teams to design, build and document software solutions.

You will play a key role in ensuring that the chosen technology stack aligns with business goals and that any risks are mitigated. This includes evaluating vendor proposals and making recommendations on the best course of action.

Responsibilities

  • Leads business goals to design: translates business needs into technical plans and prototypes solutions.
  • Designs efficient solutions: creates architecture for software considering technology investment, risks, and avoiding unnecessary complexity. Collaborates with various teams to define system components, interfaces, technologies, and address non-functional requirements. Ensures proper modeling and prototyping.
  • Verifies built solution: confirms solution is built, configured, and documented correctly. Mitigates risks by ensuring teams use technology stack properly, architecture is built timely, and stakeholders are aligned. Advises on tools, environments, and priorities.
  • Drives technology adoption: works with stakeholders to identify building blocks for evolving products, find gaps in existing infrastructure, and contribute to technology plans.
  • Evaluates vendors: assesses vendor proposals for external solutions, recommending best value and return on investment.
  • Contributes to IT governance: ensures technology use generates business value and mitigates risks.
  • Collaborates for strong design: supports decision-making, guides design practices, and fosters open communication. Embraces lean and agile principles.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of development/architecture experience on cloud.
  • Experience in architecting complex solutions (large-scale, multi-region, HA, 10K+ concurrent users, mission-critical application systems) involving various cloud computing technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of AWS/Azure Services: Azure DevOps, Azure App Services, SQL-Managed, EC2, CloudFormation.
  • Development skills in programming language such as Microsoft C#, .Net, Java Script, ASP.net, .NET core.
  • Experience with Micro-Service Architecture, Kubernetes and Containers solutions, Multi-region API and Messaging Solutions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud-based integration solutions. Strong understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and standards (e.g., RESTful APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, GraphQL, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms and tools (e.g., MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Dell Boomi, IBM Integration Bus, Apache Kafka).
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-based architectures, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile engineering practices.
  • Degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification such as SAFe Practitioner, or a commitment to undertake training and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to microservices is preferred
  • Previous experience working building solutions using AI, Machine Learning and Data driven systems is an asset
