Software Manager, Development - CalendarRules Team

We are currently seeking a Software Development Manager to join our CalendarRules team. CalendarRules is a product that automates event scheduling on legal professionals calendars in order to ensure that they know exactly what needs to be done when based on "trigger" events in the case. You will own software development and maintenance of the rules engine. You will provide it as a public API service to CalendarRules customers throughout North America. You will also own internal tooling, making the rules ingestion and subscription management teams lives dramatically better through excellent tooling and time saving workflows. This will make it easier for them to build and maintain the rulesets that drive the rules engine.

This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, remotely across Canada, or a combination of both. Some exemptions may apply.

A day in the life might look like:

Collaborating with your triad to: understand the challenges our business faces, identify the most impactful opportunities, and craft a roadmap for the team;

Working with your team on preparing an architecture document for an upcoming project;

Working with the developers on your team to break down a project into deliverable chunks of work;

Giving great feedback on code reviews, architecture documents, and more to help support team members making great technical decisions for their projects;

Having a 1:1 meeting with your direct reports to make sure they are supported in their career growth and development goals;

Reviewing code contributed by members from your team or other Clio developers reaching out to you for your experience with a given technology or pattern.

Working with other developers to build and maintain scalable and reliable software system

You may be a fit for this role if:

10+ years of experience in software development.

Experience building permission management systems

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment

Troubleshoot and debug software applications

Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in software development

The expected salary range* for this role is $163,000 to $244,600 CAD. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
