This includes but is not limited to middleware that serves as the foundation for myQ residential and commercial platforms. To accomplish this, the Software Engineer will work with other developers as well as other functions such as Engineering, Product Ownership, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Customer Service in order to understand and translate product requirements into technical requirements, verify development matches product owner expectations, as well as maintain a high quality code base.Duties:Work using Agile methodologies such as Scrum to develop middlewareEvaluate requirements, collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design and develop thoughtful software designs of moderate scope and complexityParticipate in peer reviews and pull requests to yield high quality softwarePresent software concepts, designs, or code in a design review forumProvide mentoring and coaching to junior engineers to increase the software development capability of the middleware teamBe a reliable source for assessing, testing, technical troubleshooting for operating systems, communications environments and applications software, and support for the scrum teamLead and contribute to technical discussions in community of practice, design review, or other technical meeting forumsWork with offshore teams to design and develop features, and burn down technical debtEnsure adherence to coding standards and other best practices to create reusable codeResponsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document LibraryComply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teamsProtect CGI’s reputation by keeping information confidentialMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societiesContribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as neededCollect and document users requirements and develop logical and physical specificationsDevelop data, process and network models to optimize architecture and to evaluate the performance and reliability of designsPlan, design and coordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computer-based systems including mobile applicationsMay lead and coordinate teams of information systems professionals in the development of software and integrated information systems, process control software and other embedded software control systems.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering related field4 years of job-related experienceExperience with Agile methodologies and Scrum is required.Experience in creating technical documentation is requiredExperience with Microsoft technology stack, including .NET, C#, SQL, AzureExperience with Visual Studio, GIT Thorough understanding of OOP, SOLID, and RESTful services Basic understanding of dependency injection and cloud developmentGood communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally with front end and quality engineersStrong analytical ad problem solving skillsAbility to debug, troubleshoot, and self-diagnose issues in software developmentAbility to interface with scrum team, product owners and scrum masters for ticket/issue managementAbility to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationallyExperience leading junior engineers on projects of limited complexity is preferred Understanding of MQTT & AMQP preferred Experience with RabbitMQ preferred Understanding of CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) tools, frameworks and deployment processes is preferred Experience supporting project plan creation, and reporting progress to functional management at a project level preferred Chamberlain Group wants all of its employees to succeed and encourages people of all backgrounds to apply.
