What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain an internal Lab Information Management System (LIMS) to support the research and development of Miru’s core product.
  • Leverage technologies including Python, Linux, AWS, MySQL, Mongo, and MQTT in the development of the LIMS.
  • Write software for robotics and industrial automation used in the manufacturing of advanced window technology.
  • Assist in the production of customer-facing software and hardware to interface with Miru’s products.
  • Administer servers, databases, and data streams.
  • Work closely with product managers, scientists, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and deliver robust and scalable software.
  • Design and implement user interfaces using frameworks like Plotly Dash, with a focus on usability and user experience.
  • Apply information security best practices and find opportunities to improve the cybersecurity of Miru.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and maintainability of deployed solutions by implementing best practices and industry standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and performance of software applications.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and services.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer/Software Developer, with experience in data-driven web applications, as well as low-level systems, IoT, dev-ops, or data management (1-2 year experience).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Demonstrate an ability to to quickly learn and apply technology stacks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS services.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with proactively identifying areas for improvement and taking leadership of projects independently.

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency in working with IoT technologies, such as MQTT, Raspberry Pi, or embedded systems.
  • Experience with data streaming, processing, and storage technologies, such as AWS S3, MongoDB, or SQL.
  • Experience administering a Linux server using containerization, task scheduling, and access control.
  • Experience with sensors, hardware, and basic electrical and mechanical systems integration.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Availability to work full-time on-site, or partially hybrid at our Olympic Village facility.
  • Salary range: $70K to $85K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
