Our easy-to-use software platform enables thousands of restoration contractors and insurance professionals around the world to process claims faster.  We’re a remote-first company with a collaboration hub located in the heart of downtown Kitchener. We’re looking to add new members to our all-star team as we continue to grow and scale!

About the Role

As a Software Developer, you’ll be joining a diverse and highly talented team of developers working across the stack. Applying your previous experience, you will have an immediate impact in one of our cross functional Agile teams.  We deploy code to production often so your ability to thrive in a continuous integration environment will be a key asset as you work with:

  • Server Development - Python, Rust, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Tornado
  • Infrastructure - Azure, Kubernetes, Pulumi, Typescript, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Solution - Work cross-functionally with our product and design team to understand the problem to be solved and lead efforts to define how to solve that problem.
  • Code - Join a results-driven Agile team to implement features, fix bugs, and refactor code where necessary. We use tools such as Jira, GitHub, Confluence, and Slack to help get work done.
  • Test - Understand how our product works and how to test it. Design and implement automated tests in our CI pipeline to ensure your code is safe to run in production.
  • Learn - We focus on continuous improvement and encourage everyone to utilize their professional development budget. You will have ample opportunities to investigate custom components, and optimize our code to help us scale our product for long-term growth.
  • Coach - Mentor junior developers by working alongside them and providing regular feedback while leading by example
  • Grow - Continue to broaden your skills in areas of our product that are critical to our rapidly growing customer base.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a developer with focus and expertise in back-end technologies.
  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement but also a bias towards action and driving to achieve results.
  • A demonstrated understanding of how large complex systems work. Can clearly describe previous systems and which components they worked on.
  • Be able to understand and balance business requirements and technical prerequisites to achieve product and architecture goals.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using relevant ticket and source control tools.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML solutions.
