Job Description

Our valued client is looking for a Senior Data Architect

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Architect to provide tactical advice on Data and analytics, Data Management, Master Data, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Power Bi, Information Governance.

% remote, initial 8-month contract

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate alternative tech solutions to address business issues.
  2. Analyze functional requirements to map out information, procedures, and decision flows.
  3. Attend stakeholder meetings and prepare relevant documentation.
  4. Securely maintain all documentation.
  5. Contribute to discussion documents, proposals, reports, and briefing materials; make presentations; and develop strategic recommendations for senior management.
  6. Document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application sub-systems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
  7. Define input/output sources, plan for the technical design phase, and obtain system proposal approval.
  8. Design, implement, improve, and document the next-gen data and analytic architecture at FCAC, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other D&A components.
  9. Develop technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies to meet business and application needs.
  10. Ensure integration of all tech solutions.
  11. Identify and document system-specific standards for data and analytics development, documentation, testing, and application sub-systems.
  12. Identify solution-driving policies and requirements.
  13. Collaborate with Business and IM/IT teams to implement the D&A architecture and its components.
  14. Monitor industry trends to align solutions with government and industry tech directions.
  15. Implement Business Intelligence development standards and best practices.
  16. Advise on optimizing Information Architecture, Metadata, Reference, and Master Data Modeling.
  17. Advise on standardization techniques for enterprise reporting initiatives.
  18. Advise on data quality solution outputs.
  19. Provide expertise in identifying project risks, issues, challenges, and lessons learned from previous Data and analytics, Data Management, Information Governance, and Master Data Management projects.
  20. Provide tactical advice on Data and analytics, Data Management, Master Data, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Power Bi, Information Governance.
  21. Lead the data and analytic team in implementing next-gen data and analytic capacities.
  22. Provide support to employees of the data management team and develop training for delivery to other employees in the organization.

Must Have Skills:

Minimum of ten years’ experience within the last fifteen years in designing and implementing Data Architectures, Data Modeling, and Data Analysis and Profiling working on IM/IT projects.

Minimum of one year’s experience within the last five years in designing and implementing Data Architectures, Data Modeling, and Data Analysis and Profiling, Data Pipelines (ETL) in a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment.

Minimum of ten years’ experience within the last fifteen years performing the following tasks:

  • Data architecture;
  • Data development and design;
  • Data quality management;
  • Reference and master data management;
  • Data governance;
  • Data integration;

Holds a post-secondary diploma/degree in the field of computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, commerce or IT.

Holds Microsoft certifications from the following product categories (valid and with proof):

  • Azure Data Factory
  • Microsoft Dataverse
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Microsoft Purview
  • SQL Server
