Job Description

The position of Site Supervisor - In short

Under the supervision of the geosciences discipline supervisor, the worksite supervisor will be responsible for supervising worksites, mainly containment structures (landfill cells, basins, reservoirs, platforms, storage areas, final covers, etc.) and ensuring that work proceeds smoothly and complies with the various regulations.

Mobility is required to travel to different regions. At Groupe Alphard, we are proud to carry out projects throughout Quebec (Abitibi, Far North, Eastern Townships, Quebec City region, Centre-du-Québec, Montreal region), Canada (Ontario, Alberta and Western Canada) and internationally (Chile, France and Portugal).

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on construction sites
  • Supervise work on site and ensure compliance with technical plans and specifications (civil engineering, infrastructure and geosynthetics)
  • Manage contractors and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Apply on-site quality control and assurance programs on natural and geosynthetic materials
  • Perform soil and geosynthetic sampling
  • Prepare daily and weekly work reports
  • Coordinate the activities necessary to carry out the work and monitor the work schedule
  • Produce progress reports
  • Verify the quantities and approve the accounts of the work carried out
  • Produce lists of deficiencies, follow up on corrective actions and participate in the provisional and final acceptance of works
  • Annotate the plans of all changes made during the construction phase
  • Prepare final compliance reports upon completion of works
  • Carry out any other activity to ensure the smooth running of business

Your job profile

  • Mobility required for various construction sites in Quebec, Canada and remote areas
  • 5 years of experience in construction supervision - construction site
  • ASP card
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent management of priorities
  • Organizational skills, ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Good work methods and time management
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required to collaborate effectively on our international projects across Canada

Your assets

  • Experience in geosynthetic containment structures
  • Experience in the mining and industrial sectors

Our worksites are located in Quebec, Canada and remote areas.
