This role involves supervising security staff, managing security protocols, and acting as the primary point of contact between the client and the security team.Job Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day security operations, including patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, and controlling access pointsProvide superior customer service to clients and visitors to the site.Addressing anyclient concerns and requests promptly and professionallyPerform reception duties including:receiving and assistingvisitors including issuing visitor passesresponding to the CCG information line listed in the Victoria directoryredirecting incoming telephone calls and answering general enquiriesmaintaining and distributing CCG telephone directoriesBooking meeting roomsUpdatethe vessel situation report and emergency contact listCreate and issue personnel identification cards ensuring accuracy and documenting controlOversee management of CCG Base vehicle poolParticipate in theCCG Base Safety CommitteeLiaise with CCG Base Management on Base Emergency Plan mattersMaintain the CCG Basekey control, key card and parking passsystemInvestigate securityincidents and unusual occurrencesArrange extra security for projects or special eventsLead, train, and supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring they are well-versed in all security protocols and proceduresSchedule and manage the security team’s shifts, ensuring adequate coverage at all access pointsConduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to enhance the skills and knowledge of the security staffOperatethe electronic access system, including operator lock and unlock of access points and setting lock and unlock schedules.Setting up, modifying, and assigning access levels.Controlling and issuing access cardsQualification:Minimum of 3-5 years of security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.A valid BC SecurityWorkersLicenceStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesProficiency with security systems and Microsoft suiteAbility to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisionsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsObtain and maintain a Level II (Secret)Public Works and Government Service Canada security clearancePhysical fitness to perform the duties associated with security supervisionWorking Conditions:The role requires working in various environments, including indoor office settings and outdoor patrol areasShift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be requiredThe position may involve standing or walking for long periods and exposure to varying weather conditionsBenefits and Perks:Free and paid training programsRRSP contributions by employerGroup-life Insurance & Long-term DisabilityExtended Health & Dental coverageBC Transit ProPass (15% off monthly bus pass)National Bursary and Recognition programsFree uniform and dry-cleaning reimbursementReferral bonuses
