Position Title: Security Site Supervisor - Commissionaires
Location:Canadian Coast Guard Base (CCG), James Bay
Wage:
$24.49/hr plus RRSP
Shifts:Monday - Friday 06:45-14:45 but will be required to be available after regular working hours to provide advice and direction

Position Overview:

The Security Guard Site Supervisor oversees the daily operations of security personnel at a specific site, ensuring a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. This role involves supervising security staff, managing security protocols, and acting as the primary point of contact between the client and the security team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day security operations, including patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, and controlling access points
  • Provide superior customer service to clients and visitors to the site.Addressing anyclient concerns and requests promptly and professionally
  • Perform reception duties including:
    • receiving and assistingvisitors including issuing visitor passes
    • responding to the CCG information line listed in the Victoria directory
    • redirecting incoming telephone calls and answering general enquiries
    • maintaining and distributing CCG telephone directories
    • Booking meeting rooms
  • Updatethe vessel situation report and emergency contact list
  • Create and issue personnel identification cards ensuring accuracy and documenting control
  • Oversee management of CCG Base vehicle pool
  • Participate in theCCG Base Safety Committee
  • Liaise with CCG Base Management on Base Emergency Plan matters
  • Maintain the CCG Basekey control, key card and parking passsystem
  • Investigate securityincidents and unusual occurrences
  • Arrange extra security for projects or special events
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring they are well-versed in all security protocols and procedures
  • Schedule and manage the security team’s shifts, ensuring adequate coverage at all access points
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to enhance the skills and knowledge of the security staff
  • Operatethe electronic access system, including operator lock and unlock of access points and setting lock and unlock schedules.Setting up, modifying, and assigning access levels.Controlling and issuing access cards


Qualification:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • A valid BC SecurityWorkersLicence
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with security systems and Microsoft suite
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Obtain and maintain a Level II (Secret)Public Works and Government Service Canada security clearance
  • Physical fitness to perform the duties associated with security supervision

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires working in various environments, including indoor office settings and outdoor patrol areas
