We’re building a culture where people can grow their careers and are challenged to solve our client’s toughest environmental problems.About the RoleThe Site Manager is responsible for leading and directing on-site activities at the former Mount Nansen mine site including care and maintenance activities, the operation of a water treatment facility, and assisting special projects (capital projects and site investigation programs).Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior leadership and oversight to the care and maintenance of a closed mine site and theoperation of a water treatment facility.Maintain compliance with overall site management requirements, inclusive of:Site health and safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements,Program-required site care and maintenance obligations.Water management and water treatment obligations, including compliance.Overall camp management and coordination.Provide direct supervision to on-site care and maintenance and water treatment plant operations staff.Facilitate support to the site from in-house functions such as project coordination and engineering, and the management of vendors/subcontractors working on-site at any given time.Ensure that daily activities on-site activities are properly planned and resourced, and that job hazard analysis is performed before beginning individual work tasks.Communicate with and provide updates to internal project stakeholders.Supervise the tracking of labour and materials demand on-site and support the development of estimates and budgets for future work and/or special projects as required.Maintain the on-site personnel and camp schedule and always ensure proper, cost-effective resourcing on site, including safety and first-aid requirements.Ensure camp accommodation is well maintained and managed.Optimize existing operations through the implementation of systems, process optimization, preventative maintenance strategies, and health & safety improvements.Identify and recommend improvements to operations to ensure assigned functions are efficient and cost-effective.Ensure plant operations, performance, and reporting requirements conform to operating requirements as per the Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Site Health & Safety Plan, and operational recordkeeping requirements.Liaise with outside parties, including facilitation of site tours, site inspections, and coordination of road maintenance by third parties.Direct the purchasing (to be done by others) of PPE, safety equipment, critical spares, tools, consumables, etc. proactively and within a set budget.Ensure that the site complies with permit conditions and all applicable regulations and laws.Delegate appropriate designates to uphold responsibilities while not on site.With the assistance of the Site Supervisors and Safety Coordinators, ensure all site workers and visitors are properly onboarded, orientated, and possess the appropriate training to complete their job safely.Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities for direct reports.Other related duties as requiredAbout YouUniversity degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.Minimum 10 years of mining industry experience with focus on mine closure activities and/or water treatment.Past responsibility for supervision of site staff performing similar duties with respect to site maintenance, construction and water treatment.Experience working in an environmental consulting or project consulting setting is a bonus.Excellent oral and written communication skills.How to ApplyVisit www.ensero.com/careers About UsEnsero has offices in Colorado (Denver and Fort Collins) and Canada (Saskatoon, Vancouver and Whitehorse) and is well-established as an innovative leader in environmental management, site assessments and permitting, water treatment, remediation technologies, and facility operations.
