Site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) ManagerVCR Project - Varennes, QCABOUT THIS JOB OPPORTUNITYBlack & McDonald Limited is looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager for one of its projects located in Varenne (QC). This person will be responsible for assessing and monitoring health and safety hazards, as well as controlling risks in the workplace. They will be responsible to oversee the VCR Project to ensure compliance with company, client, and government policies, procedures, acts and regulations. They will ensure that the Black & McDonald Safety Management System is applied and used as required.Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Ensure that on-site orientation and awareness sessions are given to all employees and workers. Animation of Safety meeting. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and practices in health, safety and environment. Ensure emergency response plans are in place and comply with local, regional, divisional and company regulatory requirements. Oversee incident investigations and assessments and participate as required. Provide the project manager and site manager with the services and technical advice needed to ensure proper management of the HSE program. Ensure the effective implementation of the hazard or risk assessment process to ensure that the appropriate level of control is applied to risk factors. Prepare and distribute HSE statistical reports, as required. Maintain the data collection and incident reporting system, coordinate investigations and ensure that corrective measures are put in place quickly. Supervise subcontractors: participate in start-up meetings of subcontractors. Involve contractors in periodic site safety inspections or audits and systematically monitor compliance with the HSE management system. Make site visits and inspections to observe working conditions and practices. Post and maintain HSE bulletins, posters, rules and regulations. Successfully implement and manage required audits (internal and external) for the region.
