Our people and their families matter to us.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Weekend Shift Shop QA/QC Inspector in our fabrication shop in SE (8700 Venture Ave SE, not transit-accessible). Reporting to the Shop Supervision/QA QC Manager, the successful candidate will:Possess CWB Level 1 CertificationHave 2+ years previous Quality Control experienceHave CSTS-09/2020 ticket or Common Safety Orientation ticketHave a solid understanding of ASME and CSA codes and practicesShow a proven commitment to SafetyHave the ability to use tools and equipment safely Commitment to safety and adhering to all safe work practices and proceduresComplete dimension and visual inspections of welded piping and structural steelRecord welders symbols, heat numbers and radiography numbers on drawings and travel sheetsPrepare documentation for, and inspect hydrostatic & pneumatic pressure testsInstall name plates, coordinate inspections with ABSA, NDE Contractors and Client TPIsComplete Quality Control paperworkBe able to work in a manufacturing facility with other trades presentHave the ability to perform outside/inside work, sometimes in inclimate weather conditionsMeet the physical demands of the positionBe able to lift up to 60lbs, work at heights, be agile and able to go on/off equipment, up/down laddersExperience in welding and ASME equipment and piping is an asseSKILLS & ABILITIESStrong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and with a teamFlexible to learn new tasks or different client expectationsAbility to multi-task and work with minimal supervisionAbility to review numerous types of documentation for errors, discrepancies and missing informationHighly motivated and self-directedStrong problem identification and problem resolution skillsAlstar offers:A great work environmentCompetitive compensation and benefitsOpportunities for acquiring new skills and professional advancementAn environment where your ideas on innovation and product or process improvements are valued and implementedRecognition for your achievements and contribution to our successOne of our industrys most effective workplace safety programsA quality control program certified by the ABSA, ASME and CWBWe are a team of professionals that work together to achieve our goalsWe thank all candidates for their interest but only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
