Job Description

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Shipping and Receiving Associate. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Windsor, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing items for shipping and performing final verification in accordance with BioVectra quality system.
  • Completing all required shipping documentation consistently, accurately and in a timely manner for each shipment
  • Maintaining and improving shipping performance metrics.
  • Receiving deliveries to site and completing required entry into the ERP system. Notifying and/or delivering items to appropriate areas/departments.
  • Material segregation, quarantine and storage.
  • Staging materials for process work and shipping.
  • Material dispensing for production as needed.
  • Coordinating receipt and storage of WIP, intermediate or finished goods from production.
  • Controlling access to inventory that has not been staged for use or sale/distribution.
  • Ensuring First Expired First Out (FEFO) is followed, and documenting under planned deviation when required by SOP.
  • Processing material status updates in a timely manner and ensuring materials remain properly labeled during storage.
  • Ensuring warehouse material handling equipment is properly used and maintained
  • Material sampling, as required, to support initial testing and retesting and when necessary day-to-day operations.
  • Entering and maintaining required data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Performing and maintaining assigned housekeeping duties.
  • Ensuring Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training status remains current at all times.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRA’s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • High school diploma; post-secondary education in Chemical Technology an asset.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a warehouse setting
  • One (1) year experience working in an ERP environment
  • Experience with cGMP standards considered an asset
  • WHMIS/HMIS Forklift and TDG training are considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
