The Area of Health Policy & Management within the DeGroote School of Business invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the 2024 Fall session.

Course Name/number: C741 Health Care Marketing for Managers

This course seeks to deepen students’ understanding of how various business, sociological, and psychological principles are applied in the marketing of health-related products, services, and ideas. The aim is for students to become aware of how analysis of the organization’s internal and external environments leads to strategy development, objective formulation, and tactical actions. Examples are drawn from profit and non-profit sectors in high-income and low and middle-income countries. Learning approaches include case applications, readings, lectures, discussions, guest speakers, and web-based information sources, and may involve student team consulting projects for local healthcare organizations.

Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area and experience working and/or teaching in the area of health care marketing.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. preferred in a relevant subject area; five years of experience: teaching graduate course, or as a senior manager in a health related organization, or CHE (Certified Health Executive) designation from the College of Health Leaders; familiarity with Avenue to Learn or similar online learning platforms.

Wage Rate*: The DeGroote School of Business offers a pay rate commensurate with qualifications and related teaching experience in a range from $8,600 to $9,750. The exact rate of pay is determined at the sole discretion of the employment supervisor, according to standard evaluation criteria.

If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
