Position Purpose Provides strategic and operational leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of the University’s Web sites. Ensures the integrated management (leadership, planning, and coordination) of communications, change management, and training for the web community. May supervise a team of Web Developers and/or Web Content Management Specialists. In this role, your responsibilities will be: Operational management: Takes a leadership role in the area of user trends, technical trends, and Web metrics to improve the University’s Web presence. Take responsibility for any serious or unresolved issues through contacts with clients, manufacturers, other institutions, and IT personnel from other sector of the University. Implementation of web standards: In collaboration with major stakeholders and through steering committees, establish Web standards and procedures and ensures adherence to them for reliable, secure, and conformed operation of the University’s Web sites. Project management: Initiate, plan, develop and manage projects for the Web, and other IT initiatives. Strategic management: Participates as a member of strategic teams that support the University’s mission through its Web presence. Leads the execution of technology strategies for the Web by establishing and maintaining internal and external partnerships. Manages the delivery of Web tools and technologies to meet the needs of the University community. Supervision of others: Supervises daily functions performed by the Web Developers and/or Web CMS; provide daily guidance. Plan, schedule and track project timelines ensuring deadlines are met by the team. Consulting and advisory services: Take a leadership role in advising stakeholders on matters related to Web deliverables and the resolution of technical issues. What you will bring: Essential Qualifications University degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination or education and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in managing large Web sites. Other Qualifications Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of IT business standards and processes to provide a Web environment based on a complex infrastructure. Knowledge of business process development, governance processes, management, and administrative operations. Expertise in Web metrics, analysis and user trends. Experience in leading a team of IT professionals. Experience in the selection, installation and maintenance of IT assets. Experience in communications and change management strategies. Experience in recommending and leading technology changes in large organizations. Experience in project management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
