This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in building and expanding the Teneo Canada business.DescriptionA Senior Vice President within Teneo Strategy is the client facing member of our account teams.As a Senior Vice President, you are responsible for developing communications strategy and providing senior-led advisory to clients. This may include, but not be limited to, online and offline communications strategy and tactics, long-term and rapid response planning, and crisis management. Senior Vice Presidents are sophisticated, client-facing individuals who are able to deal directly and solely with clients on corporate strategy, communications, investor relations, government affairs and public relations. Senior Vice Presidents will work hand in hand with senior members of the firm to manage client engagements and deliver best-in-class service.The role is based in Calgary with a requirement of at least three days a week in the office.Responsibilities:Drive and develop communications strategies and campaigns on behalf of clientsDrive and contribute to the business development strategy and outreach, including proposal development and pitch participation, in Calgary and nationallyWork on Calgary-based client accounts and support client work in the Toronto and Montreal offices; opportunities to contribute to other global accounts when requiredResponsible for preparing client ready strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing memos, and distributed media materials; managing messages; and coordinating client program activitiesInteract directly and be the point person with the clients to create and execute on communications initiativesResponsibility for setting strategy and workloads for core account team and deliver high quality client serviceAble to anticipate and understand client experiences and external trends to advise on how to best meet clients’ current and future needsServe as a role model and mentor to colleaguesEstablish priorities based on strategic direction, considering multiple perspectives and interdependencies with othersResponsible for meeting deadlines and timelinesQualifications:10-15 years in public relations/corporate communications/media/investor relations or relevant experienceAbility to provide strategic advice to senior level clients, including C-suiteUnderstanding of macro-economic, political and regulatory environments to inform strategic advice to clientsStrong media and business network in CalgaryStrong organizational skills with the ability to develop and execute multiplatform communications strategiesAbility to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and manage both up and down the organizationExceptional written and verbal communication; experience delivering presentations in PowerPoint is requiredEducation - Bachelor’s degree or equivalentAgency/consulting experience preferredWhat We OfferAs a Teneo employee, you'll enjoy unique benefits including flexible time off policy; medical, dental, and vision coverage; long-term disability, and life insurance; RRSP plan with corporate matching; team events; snacks; and other perks.Our Commitment to Diversity and InclusionTeneo is an equal opportunity employer and promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace.
