Senio r Underwriter, Prestige, High Net Worth,

to join our growing team! To meet the growing demand for Personal Lines High-Value insurance products, the Prestige underwriting team is looking for an Intermediate or Senior High Net Worth underwriter who will collaborate and build strong relationships with our brokers. As an underwriter for the Prestige department, your work will have a significant impact based on your experienced underwriting skills. People will rely on you to provide creative solutions to meet the customer's unique needs.

The position reports to the Manager, Prestige and requires a minimum of 2 days/week in the Calgary or Edmonton office. What you’ll do here: Underwrite (assess, evaluate and process) complex files within binding authority limit involving personal automobile, property and/or casualty policies in order to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.

Strong sales skills and business acumen; ability to influence brokers partners and solicit new business by identifying opportunities for profitable growth.

Ensure authorized limits are in accordance with established company guidelines, applicable laws and regulations as well as apply standard rates and premiums in underwriting quotes.

Lead by example, coach colleagues by demonstrating agility, adaptability to change in a dynamic team environment.

Participate in insurance industry events, and promote products and services.

Identify improvement needs and recommend process and/or technology changes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness.

Assist with special projects and may back-up the team manager in their absence.

What you bring to the table: Minimum of 5 years prior experience in personal lines underwriting and experience working with high net worth products/policies.

Strong sales focus and customer service skills with prior experience working with brokers preferred.

Sound knowledge of all Personal Lines insurance.

Proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Able to analyze and interpret policy wording and legal documents.

Demonstrate efficiency and priority management skills to meet service standards.

Excellent written and verbal skills.

Post secondary education (college/university degree) preferred or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Completion of or significant progress toward achievement of a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

Willing to travel to brokers' offices

Possession of a valid driver's license preferred

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Note: The level of role offered will be determined based on skills, experience and education.
