We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to work with our Canadian Banking applications team in Scotia Digital, who can design and write test automation scripts for new or existing software. Is this role right for you?

In this role you will:

  1. Utilize standard test automation frameworks to design, build and maintain programs/scripts that run automated tests on code produced by the team.
  2. Contribute to manual testing process in addition to automated testing.
  3. Analyze and identify test scenarios to be automated.
  4. Deliver requested automation scripts in an Agile model with efficiency and accuracy ensuring automation best practices.
  5. Continuously improve automated testing methodologies to enable QA SMEs to maximize test coverage of the full depth of enterprise product.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

We'd love to work with you if you have:

  1. 6+ years of experience in Test Automation using Selenium-Java.
  2. Experience in creating/maintaining automation BDD/TDD framework (Using Cucumber, Maven, TestNG).
  3. Knowledge of tools and frameworks such as WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Cucumber, Mocha and Axe-core.
  4. Hands-on experience with web-based applications and API web services.
  5. Hands-on experience using tools like SOAP UI, Postman, or something similar.
  6. Good knowledge of version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket.
  7. Good knowledge writing SQL/NoSQL queries.
  8. Scripting experience with any of the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.
  9. Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Xray and test management tool HP ALM.
  10. Very good knowledge on QA processes and hands-on experience of preparing testing artifacts such as test plan, strategy, test cases, status reports.
  11. Well knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt the experience to new and evolving environments.
  12. Previous experiences in major Canadian banks or other Financial Institutions considered as an asset, specifically web banking systems.
  13. Computer engineering background will be preferred.
  14. Good communication skills.
  15. Ability to work as a team and independently.
