Posted 4 days ago General Contractor Leading general contractor focused on large infrastructure projects across Canada Large general contractor seeking experienced Senior Structural Engineer with 7+ years of experience in construction phase of large infrastructure projects ($100m+) The Senior Structural Engineer plans, organizes and leads engineering to meet company objectives from a design prospective. The project requires senior engineering leaders who will be based on the project office to ensure the guarantees and the design performance. The end result is to deliver a successful project on time, on budget, within company requirements and client obligations for safety, health, environment and quality. Responsibilities: Coordinate and prepare detailed plans to accomplish goals and lead the integration of technical and structural activities. Effective daily management of the ‘Design Team’ (Internal and External) along with the Scheduler to ensure the provision of required deliverables for the project. Coordinate the temporary works . Interface with Designers, temporary works designers and construction team. Optimization of the design in early stages of the process. Lead the performance for the design subcontracts. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing design reports. Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients and partners. Liaise with construction team, designers & suppliers to develop efficient & safe erection engineering methods. Ensure all of shop drawings are reviewed and comments incorporated. Assist in complete definition of Civil and Structural work packages. Plan, Engineer and coordinate all works associated with Structural construction. Provide direction and support to project related staff and subcontract partners while reinforcing the quality design management plan. Maintain cordial relations and communications with designers and engineering leaders’ disciplines. Plan the Structural construction sequence and engineering logic in conjunction with the Construction and Design Managers. Adhere to project budget, schedule, quality, safety and environmental requirements. Establish and implement operational, technical, financial and administrative controls on the engineering subcontracts. Engineering integrated report. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 7+ years related experience or training. 5+ year’s post-qualification experience working on construction projects. Bridge/Roads engineering projects experience is a plus. Experience in working in a multi-national joint venture environment is a plus. Experience in British Columbia Civil/Structural construction projects is a plus. Ideal Candidate Only candidates with authorisation to work in Canada will be considered.
