As a multi-disciplinary practise, they offer specialized value-added business solutions, as well as an in-house law firm.

They are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in their Compilation Division, who is a qualified CPA, and experienced in Canadian Public Accounting to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Assist and independently prepare corporate and personal tax planning. (i.e. dividend vs. salary calculations)
  • Strong understanding in Canadian taxation.
  • Maintaining client files in a paperless methodology.
  • Independently research tax issues and collaborate with the team to determine solutions, including correspondence with CRA.
  • Independently work directly with clients.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and regularly monitor deadline budgets.
  • Identify value-added services while working on engagements.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service, with the ability to understand the clients' business and needs.
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Drive to grow skills through ongoing research and professional education.
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong accounting background including knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices.
  • Strong technical skills in CaseWare, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Tax Prep, Excel and Word.
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Canadian Public Accounting practice.
  • Strong understanding in Canadian taxation.
