Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Quality Engineer to be part of a team in Dublin. This individual will be responsible for crafting and developing test automation and inhouse software utilities as part of the Quality Engineering organization within Fidelity’s Workplace Investing division.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5+ years of test automation development using Java or similar language.
  • Experience in testing distributed applications at multiple layers of the technology stack.
  • Experience using REST, Java, Web Services, SOAP, Git, Jenkins
  • Proven technical skills (e.g., SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Java, or Python)
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, RESTAssured , Karate, Git and Jenkins
  • Hands on experience with crafting and maintaining testing frameworks like Junit, TestRunner, Selenium (TestNG)
  • Knowledge of with Version Control Systems (Git, ClearCase etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud technologies, DevOps, CI/CD experience.
  • Practical experience working with both functional and regression testing including test automation within an agile environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt and thrive to meet the needs of a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Experience with continuous integration practices and automated deployment tools
  • Experience with agile methodology in a distributed team setting
  • Databases: At least one relational database such as MySQL or Oracle
  • Interpret business requirements and crystallize stories and acceptance criteria for implementation.
  • Identify risks and develop contingency plans in anticipation of test automation issues.
  • Have the proven ability to work independently as part of an Agile Sprint, Kanban team/squads.
  • Proven understanding of the software development process including planning, analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, and problem resolution
  • Use and improve upon an existing automation framework.

  • Contribute to the design phases of projects to ensure engineering solutions are automatable.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to determine suitable automation frameworks.
  • Mine and manipulate data to create test data and test cases for projects.
  • Develop and execute automation tests and strategies.
  • Actively participate in all Agile Ceremonies including elaboration and planning
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and business colleagues to define acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze and report test results, project tracking and product release readiness.
