Job Responsibility:

We're looking for a skilled Senior Software Developer to join our Technical Applications Development Department at our head office located at 140 Otter Street in Winnipeg.

As Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and support various applications within our Technical Application Development group. Additionally, you will mentor the team and provide guidance and input to the team's best practices.

What You'll Do

  • You will deliver fully functional and tested software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Analyze client requests and recommend solutions and strategies to meet requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Create new innovative solutions challenging problems that facilitate the improvement of the production of lottery products.
  • Develop applications used by many internal clients.
  • Develop and interfaces between internally developed and externally purchased software.
  • Provide guidance and mentor junior members of the development team.
  • Prepare and submit project status reports and capital requests.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other related degree. We will consider candidates with a combination of experience and education in the software development field.
  • Over 5 years' experience in developing software solutions.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in C# .Net application development
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in SQL database design and development recommended.
  • In depth knowledge of multiple programming languages; C#, Scripting, XML
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles and project management principles
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, working with projects from conception to implementation with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with users, working with projects from conception to implementation with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring development teams.
  • Ability to apply strong analytical skills when gathering information and determining requirements.
  • Innovative problem-solver with ability to generate workable solutions.
  • Exemplary planning, prioritizing and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in deploying solutions in AWS or Azure is considered an asset.
  • Lottery related experience would be considered an asset.
