Senior Roofing Estimator | Surrey BC, Port Coquitlam BC with the need to travel to site | Monday to Friday| Competitive salary based on experience. The role is responsible for Estimating, you will have a full understanding of the financial management of the contract from understanding the costs of the project and management of these to fulfilling the business’s Gross and Net Margin requirements and the overall management of the valuation. Main duties and responsibilities Attend site meetings as required. Completion of detailed site surveys. Analysis of tender documentation, including drawing; take-offs, and technical documents to prepare estimates. Consulting with subcontractors and suppliers to discuss estimates and resolve issues and inquiries. Communicating with potential customers, colleagues, and suppliers to arrange site visits and site measures. Traveling to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor requirements, and other factors. Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses. Analyze quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure pricing requirements are fulfilled. Submission of tenders and quotations. Handing over successful projects to the construction team clearly and concisely. Experience & Qualifications: · 5-10 year's experience in a Construction Estimating role is an asset. Completion of a College or University program in Architectural Technology or a related subject is required. Experience in residential and/or small commercial construction cost estimation. · Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization methods and formulas for problem-solving. Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures. Ability to read and interpret building specifications blueprints and as-builds. Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates. Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids.
