This role is pivotal in providing insightful pre-contractual estimates for project QA activities and crafting comprehensive quality assurance plans. You will offer invaluable guidance on interpreting Quality System processes for project teams and collaborate closely with Supplier Quality Engineering and Program Quality Engineering throughout the product lifecycle.From participating in project review meetings to conducting audits and facilitating cross-functional teams, you will ensure adherence to quality standards at every stage. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights to enhance operational effectiveness. Join us if you are ready to lead with precision, tackle challenges head-on, and contribute to our commitment to excellence.Creates project quality assurance plans and/or generates quality assurance sections of other project management plans.Participate in project review meetings to report on issues, opportunities and keep appraised of current project status.Leverage Engineering support groups to ensure business execution, operational effectiveness and on-time delivery performance.Participate in DO-178 SOI Airworthiness Audits by DND TAA (within DTAES) (military), and DER, as required by identified SW programs.Support and leverage the established Engineering Development Framework that applies to Systems Engineering to ensure adequate tailoring, planning, execution and lessons learned.Complete reports and present statistical analysis and findings on a regular basis and during quality forums and project gates.Development of reporting foundation and identification of key performance goals to monitor operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.Use data to manage performance, coordinate actions and ensure timely executionFacilitate/lead cross-functional teams to address and eliminate nonconformances.Participate in or lead appropriate resolution meetings and possess the ability to work well with a wide range of individuals from senior leaders, advanced engineering groups and production personnel.Responsible for coordination and participation on a variety of continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.Engage effective tools and knowledge transfer to ensure that solutions are implemented successfully.Conducts periodic audits of the project and work products for compliance with the project's defined processes and procedures, reporting accordingly.Initiates and tracks to closure, corrective actions arising from process and product audits.Participates in design reviews and configuration audits.Participates as a member of the project Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB)Monitors the conduct of formal test activities (e.g. acceptance tests; qualification tests) for compliance with test plans and procedures.Identify key operational problems that block outstanding business performance.Acts as primary point of contact for contracting agency QA personnel. Supports contracting agency visits / audits as necessary.Conducts meetings related to area of responsibility; sets agenda, guides meetings, identifies and follows up actions, generates minutes.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, including project workQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or applicable technical or scientific discipline.At least six years’ experience in a development environment coupled with at least seven years’ experience in a quality assurance environment.Membership of a professional body (e.g. ASQC) is an assetMust be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
