Job Description

Our client is a technical consultancy providing Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. They are searching for a motivated and energetic Senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.

Employment Type: Full-time (permanent)

Location: Vancouver, BC

The role of the Senior Project Manager will be focused, but not limited to three pillars:

Project Delivery

Overall project leadership. Plan and manage projects using a thorough understanding of PMI processes and specific client requirements. Ensure efficient communication and coordination between all stakeholders including Engineering, Procurement, Contract Administration, Construction Management, Safety, Environment, Indigenous Relations, and Community Relations. Act as the key contact with clients, stakeholders, sub-consultants, contractors, and support staff. Chair and attend project and site meetings and communicate directly with clients, maintaining a respectful and professional working relationship. Use industry knowledge of transmission and distribution projects to identify, coordinate and secure all required permits and regulatory approvals.

Business Development

Actively contribute to growing company revenue and obtaining client satisfaction by performance excellence. Lead and participate in RFP processes for various PM opportunities, as needed. Collaborate with other divisions to actively promote company services

People Management

Lead, mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers Provide leadership to the PM team and advise on training and professional development for junior staff. Identify and secure partnership opportunities. Maintain key client relationships; and Assist with recruiting key staff.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years of consulting or public sector experience; Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or Building Diploma is considered an asset; Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC, or Registered Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with ASTTBC considered an asset; Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with the Project Management Institute (PMI) considered an asset; Experience with complex construction values over $10M; The MMCD Certified Contract Administrator (MMCD CCA) designation is considered an asset; Adept knowledge of applied design and construction methods; Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills with project stakeholders, the public, clients, regulatory agencies and consultants/contractors; Excellent report and proposal writing skills; and Experience assembling, managing and delivering construction contracts.
