Job Description

Leadership of key Schreder North America projects which require development and delivery of project specific solutions. This is a high visibility role providing the interface between both internal and external teams to ensure that Schreder’s project obligations and commitments are delivered profitably, on time and in full. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both customers and internal / external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach that delivers positive results.

Main responsibilities within the job:

  • Work with the North American sales organization to identify key opportunities that will require the delivery of complex solutions / services.
  • Review project scopes and RFP/RFQ requirements.
  • Identify, quantify, and manage Schreder’s technical and contractual obligations and commercial risks on selected projects.
  • Identify the level of required activity, technical expertise and resources required to deliver solutions for these opportunities and develop a detailed project plan.

Project Implementation Phase

  • Create, maintain and track your project schedules through organizational and project management tools.
  • Partner closely with Schreder Group resources (STAR team, R&D, Segment Managers, Hyperion) and serve as liaison for the North American organization.
  • Deploy resources required for onsite assistance, commissioning and troubleshooting for pilot projects, first of its kind installations and more complex projects across the various Schreder segments (particular focus on tunnel and connected lighting projects).
  • Responsible for ensuring a consistent high level and quality delivery of identified strategic or complex project solutions, and provide onsite follow up to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Generate and issue relevant management and KPI reporting to ensure visibility to project schedules.
  • Process development – establish robust project management processes that drive visibility and accountability to project schedules/deliverables.
  • Maintain knowledge of local certification standards and interface with testing bodies (ie. UL, DLC, IES).
  • Continuous improvement – identify and implement best practices to enhance the customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both customers and internal/external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach that delivers positive results.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with end users, channel partners, contractors, distributors and technology partners.

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related required.

-Languages: English; French would be a huge plus.

-Exceptional project management skills and attention to details.

-Ability to build long term partnerships.

-Managing 3rd party contractors.

-Solution oriented.

-Strong technical skills.

-Full understanding of construction / infrastructure industry contracts and project management approaches together with knowledge of project, risk and value management.

Experience & Requirements:

-Prior lighting project management experience with construction industry knowledge. Experienced in reviewing project documents including drawings, schedules, and submittals.

- 10 years of relevant experience. Experience in technical project management in infrastructure related projects is a must. Prior onsite supervision of projects is required.

-Candidates with project management experience at larger construction companies, engineering firms or electrical contractors will receive priority consideration.

-Well versed in Microsoft Project or other project management software tools.

-Extensive travel required (50%+) along with onsite project support outside of normal business hours.

-PMP Certification considered an advantage but not a requirement.
