LEA is hiring a Senior Highway Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will represent LEA as a senior engineer on multiple MTO highway projects, collaborating with a team of skilled engineers and designers to enhance Ontario's transportation infrastructure. You will provide mentorship and support to intermediate and junior team members, helping them develop the skills and knowledge required to grow their careers. In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead the detailed design activities for complex highway projects in compliance with TAC and MTO manuals, design standards, and guidelines.
- Attend and represent LEA in project coordination meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project design and delivery.
- Manage and coordinate deliverables with the design team and provide technical guidance on complex design issues.
- Develop quantity takeoff and cost estimates for highway projects.
- Perform in-field review/investigation of existing highway conditions and provide technical recommendations.
- Participate in utility coordination meetings and manage utility conflicts to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Liaise with project discipline team members and sub-consultants under the direction of an Engineer.
- Mentor and coach junior team members and participate in their professional growth plans.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Continuously grow professional skills and knowledge through training sessions and involvement in professional associations.
- Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- 6-8 years of experience in managing highway projects, including planning, design, and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Transportation Engineering principles and Jurisdictional Design Guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of highway design principles.
- Experience in using industry-relevant software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, InRoads/OpenRoads).
- Strategic and process-oriented, with the ability to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
- Team player able to work independently with little oversight.
- Able to prioritize tasks with excellent organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with commendable problem-solving skills.
The work arrangement:
LEA operates in a hybrid environment to ensure flexibility and well-being. Periodic attendance at our Markham office is expected to facilitate collaboration and mentoring.
