As a Senior Project Manager within Professional Services, you will be spending 50% of your time driving consulting revenue and 50% of your time managing projects. Therefore, you must have a great track record being able to identify your external clients’ problems, offer solutions and increase revenue. You easily establish rapport and your clients consider you to be a “trusted advisor”. The projects range in size from $30k-$500k and you’ll be involved in about 4-6 projects concurrently.

Objectives:

·Builds new and leverages existing client contacts to identify new business opportunities for our client.

·Provide Project Management for large-sized client projects and project teams, and/or internal projects as assigned, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery, and high-quality deliverables.

·Ensure that all internal and external projects are completely and accurately represented in Changepoint, and all other financial and reporting systems.

·Continuous improvement of our client’s solution delivery capabilities and sharing of related knowledge and best practices with the PM community.

·Assist in service estimation and solution sales processes.

Responsibilities:

·Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including management of scope, budget, risk, resources, plan/timeline, internal communications and external client communications. Leads project teams and is responsible and accountable for overall success of project.

·Determines staffing needs for projects, and works with resource management and other project managers to coordinate assignment of staff to projects. This may include working with a small number of subcontractors and/or partners in a relatively simple fashion as needed.

·Encourages and fosters individual professional growth, as well as teamwork among project staff.

·Works with pre-sales, Business Unit Manager, and Legal to prepare services contracts.

·Ensures all assigned projects comply to our client’s processes (e.g. as documented within our client’s Canada PMO).

·Participates in, or leads, knowledge-sharing activities and makes contributions to knowledge-base. This may include working with and/or providing presentations to Services, Marketing, Sales, and Pre-sales groups/resources within this company.

·May assist or shadow other Project Managers in large projects.

·Ensures internal and external client, escalation procedures are followed in a timely manner for prompt problem resolution on projects.

·Proactively maintains an understanding of our client’s solutions and architectures, including competitive analysis. Develops a deeper level of understanding as needed to meet project requirements. This may include building and maintaining strong ties with other corporate resources such as R&D, Marketing, driver teams and Technical Support.

·Works with pre-sales to help qualify solution sales opportunities. Provides services time/effort estimates and project plans for use in proposals.

·Provides client presentations regarding our client’s methodologies, value proposition, and project management processes.

·Provides input into consulting group processes and procedures.

·Mentors other Project Managers as assigned.

·Increased responsibility for incorporating subcontractors, partner resources and partner processes into projects as determined by internal/client/partner needs.

·Participates in Project Management team review of PMO processes, and actively develops/contributes material to PMO as assigned.

·Supervises internal product validation/development/quality assurance as relates to particular client solution implementation needs, or internal needs as assigned. This may involve extensive interaction with R&D and/or other corporate resources.

·Is an identified resource for fulfilling role of objective reviewer in regular internal project/design/code reviews, providing guidance to project management colleagues and their project teams. May also take part in specialized business and technical reviews depending upon his/her areas of expertise. Develops and communicates associated best practices in his/her areas of expertise within our client.

·Understands and leads new solution implementations working with stakeholders, both internal and external.

·Expands business development opportunities, working more closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, and Alliance teams to develop and execute Sales strategy.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business or Computer Science

·PMP (PMI) is an asset

·Knowledge of MS Word, Excel

·Strong working knowledge of MS Project.

·Ability to conceptualize client needs and translate into specific implementation strategies

·Demonstrated breadth of project management skills with minimum of 5 years, up to and including 7 years, of experience managing multi-person applications development projects or equivalent, preferably in a vendor/competitive sales environment serving external clients.

·At least 8 years of experience data warehousing (DW), business intelligence (BI)

·Ability to work with minimal supervision.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills.

·Ability to travel up 10% of the time (mainly Ottawa, but may include Quebec and Eastern Canada)

·Bilingual (French and English) is an asset, but not mandatory
