Job Description

Navacord Corporate is seeking a Senior Project Manager (contract) to oversee and drive delivery of a priority investment in a transformational data strategy. This role will be responsible for the delivery of the full scope of the data strategy, including all technical and operating model implications and realization of related business benefits. This individual should be a seasoned project manager in the Canadian Insurance and Financial Services industries, with previous experience successfully delivering strategic data initiatives in companies with similar size and complexity. They should also feel confident navigating across senior executive stakeholder forums, large and complex operational and technology deliverables, and driving alignment and change within a decentralized operating modelResponsibilities:Project Leadership: Lead the development of comprehensive and interrelated workstream plans, defining objectives, scope, timelines, resource and requirements, and deliverablesEstablish and manage a fit-for-purpose formal structure for decisioning, engagement, and information sharing, while establishing clear communication channels aligned to established frameworksBuild and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment of project objectives with organizational goals and addressing stakeholder concernsData Strategy Quality of Execution: Govern project deliverables against core data principles and deliver data documentation artifactsTeam Leadership: Provide strong leadership to project team, motivating and guiding them towards achieving project goals while fostering collaboration and accountabilityOrganizational Influence: Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders, team members, and decision-makersGain support for project objectives, fostering collaboration, and overcoming obstacles to achieve successful project outcomesPerformance Monitoring & Control: Monitor project performance against established metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)Identify variances and taking corrective actions as needed to ensure project successBenefits Realization Management: Develop strategies and metrics to measure and track the realization of program benefits over timeEnsure alignment with business objectives and driving continuous improvementProblem Solving: Proactively identify and address project challenges and issues, applying sound judgment and problem-solving skills to find effective solutions and keep the project on trackVendor Management: Effectively manage relationships with external partners, monitor contract performance, and enforce compliance to mitigate risks and optimize project costsRequirements:10+ years of project management experience delivering large and complex projects ($10-20M+) in the Canadian Insurance and Financial Services industries, working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment5+ years of experience in data management projects at all levels including capture, curation, and consumption of data, ideally in an Azure environmentStrong grasp of core data governance principles including data cataloging, lineage, quality, Principle of Least Privilege, data access policies, data masking, zero trust security, etc.Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needsProven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objectiveSeasoned experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior LeadershipSuperior skills to influence and drive change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional and decentralized environmentDemonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying prioritiesExperience delivering Microsoft solutions, including Azure Cloud PlatformExcellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / WaterfallBachelor's Degree, project management certificationNavacord is actively committed to support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
